The Holland BPW has a commitment to our community to pursue a responsible, sustainable and prosperous solution for our energy future. With planning and site preparation for the Holland Energy Park underway, we continue to recognize the importance of transparency and accountability to our goals. That’s why the Holland BPW is pursuing top honors through Envision™, a nationally-recognized sustainability rating system.
The Envision™ program is maintained by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a standardized sustainability rating system for civil infrastructure projects. Envision™ has 60 sustainability criteria, called credits, divided into five sections: Quality of Life, Leadership, Resource Allocation, Natural World, and Climate and Risk.
The Holland BPW already has five Envision™ credentialed professionals on staff, and plans to apply this rating system to other large capital infrastructure projects across all of our utilities in the future. Over the next year, we’ll continue to share more stories about the steps we’re taking toward this rating.
