Over 30 firefighters from four local fire departments participated in a smoke-out exercise at Fifth St. and Fairbanks last Saturday. The City of Holland, City of Zeeland, Park Township and Holland Township fire departments each took part in the exercise, which they have called a total success.
The Holland Board of Public Works has been working closely with local public safety departments to make the best use of the Fifth and Fairbanks area, which has been scheduled for demolition to make way for the community’s future natural gas power plant and surrounding park.
