Our community took a big step forward December 4, with notification from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) that the agency has approved the Permit To Install for Holland’s new gas-fired power generating facility. MDEQ said it received no public comments or requests for public hearings during the public comment period, which ended November 27, and that the permit was granted with no modifications to the proposed conditions.
“This is an important milestone for the project and for our community,” said Dave Koster, general manager of the Holland BPW. “With the permit issued and the most of the property acquisition complete, we will continue moving forward with the development of this critical part of our community’s infrastructure.”
